Welcome to Globally Concern Center for Climate Change (G4C)
At Globally Concern Center for Climate Change (G4C), we believe that protecting our planet is not just a responsibility, but a mission that requires dedication, knowledge, and collective action. While the organization was officially registered in 2018, the work to conserve nature, combat climate change, and promote environmental stewardship began over 40 years ago, driven by the passion of our founders.
Message from Chairman
My connection with nature did not begin in an office or through policy; it began in childhood. At just eight years old, growing up among the majestic mountains, I felt a deep and spiritual bond with the natural world. The forests, snow-capped peaks, flowing rivers, and the serene silence of the Himalayas shaped my understanding of life. Even then, I sensed that protecting nature was not merely a choice, but a path I was destined to follow. From that moment, I knew my purpose was to safeguard the mountains and glaciers, vital not only for their beauty but for the survival of countless communities and ecosystems.

I loved volunteering with G4C. I spent a morning cleaning rubbish off of roads in Kathmandu and then planted a tree in the foothills of the Himalaya in the afternoon. Such a wonderful mission and welcome to Nepal. I will definitely be back and can recommend PK Sherpa and his work to any travellers and locals alike.
Of all the inspiring aspects of PK Sherpa, I’d like to share his story in the Qomolangma region—collecting undissolvable waste left above the death zone—a true act of love for the environment, rewarded by the piles of old rusty cans he kept at home as “trophies.” I can still recall the emotions in his eyes as he explained to me how a single piece of plastic could melt the snow beneath it.
In the documentary he made for their(other sherpas and him) project collecting trash above 7,000 meters, he didn’t mention one more remarkable gesture that he followed a vegetarian diet. Can one imagine undertaking such a grueling mission without meat to benefit physical strength? Well, I guess true strength also comes from spirit and humanity that his environmental and animal awareness helped sustain his journey.
And it inspired me to undertake the EBC three-pass trek on a vegetarian diet. I collected cigarette butts along the way left by careless trekkers. Haha, I still remember some nights when I reached the teahouse and put all those into a trash can, people laughed in disbelief – “Did you smoke 100 cigs a day?”
Compared to PK, I have done nothing much after all. Yet precisely these small acts, which can be done by most, shouldn’t be left unnoticed by most.
